Leadership Q&A with Kiley André

Leadership Q&As are a series in which selected members of the Think+ community take a few moments to reflect on their experiences, offer advice to their fellow Energy Advisors, and look toward the future of Think+.

These insights from Regional Director Kiley André were provided during a conversation in June 2024.

What drew you to Think+?
KA: Well, I have been in network marketing in the electricity sector for eight years now. When I watched the first Zoom, I recognized the superiority of the comp plan compared to my previous company. But as I learned more and more, I started picking up on the true vision that Michael had, and that just clicked with me.

How has being an Energy Advisor impacted your life?
KA:
Being an Energy Advisor has had many impacts on my life. The sheer passion I have for this business has helped me overcome being an introvert and introduced me to some really great new friends. I never thought I would be as comfortable as I am now with doing live business overviews. Coupling all that with the fulfilling achievement of truly helping people, I feel I have purpose.

How has your definition of success evolved since you started with Think+?
KA:
My definition of success before Think+ was somewhat vague. I had a few small successes with things like my education and my career as a registered nurse in an open-heart operating room. But since Think+, I have developed the ability to set small realistic goals that are progressive toward the bigger goals that not long ago I would have deemed impossible.

What are some of the biggest motivators that keep you pushing forward?
KA:
The biggest motivator for me is helping people. Whether it’s helping them save on their bill or helping them earn some extra cash to make ends meet.

What are some non-monetary rewards that drive you?
KA:
Besides the satisfaction of helping others, being recognized as good at what I do is also nice. I strive to be the best at everything I put my time and effort into. That goes for Think+, my work, and hobbies such as darts. I am a world champion dart thrower with several titles won in the world dart tournament in Las Vegas.

What personal goals do you set for yourself, and how do they contribute to your overall sense of achievement?
KA:
I have recently changed my goal view to much smaller goals, setting customer enrollments per week or helping new advisors promote by a certain time.

What's one piece of advice you would give to someone considering becoming an Energy Advisor?
KA:
Do it! Accept the challenge and then learn how to do it. This seems to be the biggest stopper for people becoming an advisor. Not many people in this world knew how to do their job before they were hired, even jobs that require degrees. You learn the tricks of the trade after you work it for a bit.

How do you empower and support your downline to succeed as Energy Advisors?
KA:
I work for my downline more than I do for myself. They are my priority in this business. I get answers to questions and help solve problems as fast as possible. I’m always there to do business overviews for them and make sure they have all the necessary materials to effectively promote this business and its services to the public.

What kind of community do you foster within your downline?
KA:
Elaborating on the last answer, I ensure confidence and morals in the team. I make sure advisors and customers that sign up at the meetings go under who they belong under. And I train this camaraderie with my multi-team presentations and group outings.

Share a fun fact or a unique story about your experience as an Energy Advisor.
KA: Fun Fact: When I was first introduced to the business of marketing energy, I thought it was for an energy supplement. I initially said I didn’t want anything to do with it. Eight years later, it’s the best decision I ever made to get into network marketing energy!

What excites you most about the future of sustainable energy?
KA: What excites me the most about sustainable energy is that as more and more solar farms are being utilized, money and research will flow into that sector as well. The efficiency will get exponentially better over the next 10, 15, and even 50 years and beyond!

What are your biggest goals for your business moving forward?
KA: My biggest goal right now is to reach partner in the business. I won’t stop there, but that’s the milestone I want to achieve.

When you think back about your expectations when you just started, what about Think+ has surprised you the most?
KA: The most surprising thing about Think+ is how approachable corporate is with issues and offering solutions with lightning-speed responses. That is followed by how fast we are growing as a network, as a business with fixed-rate markets, and community solar launches.

I love this business and share the desire to save the environment. One tribe and community solar are huge deals for me, and I am proud to promote a business and services to fulfill this common goal!

Thank you for being an amazing company!
